NFIB Statement on Signing of COVID-19 Liability Bill

NFIB State Executive Director Bill Herrle released the following statement today in response to the signing of Senate Bill 7014, legislation renewing COVID-19 liability protections for health care providers:

“On behalf of our members, I want to thank Governor DeSantis for signing SB 7014 into law. Florida’s health care providers are on the front lines when it comes to keeping everyone safe during this pandemic. We can’t afford to have predatory trial attorneys try to exploit the pandemic for financial gain.

“Doctors, nurses, hospitals, and clinics can’t be distracted from their goal of keeping people well so they can work and go about their daily routines.”
