NFIB released a new Small Business Rundown podcast episode featuring NFIB member Jared Cochran about his experience adapting his small business to the ever-changing online marketplace. The episode is available now with tips from Jared on successfully selling online.
Jared and his family own Speed Fabrication, a metal fabrication company, and The Fixx, a salon and spa in their Missouri community. They decided to start selling some of their products on Etsy and found success using the platform. Speed Fabrication products are now available on their company website, Amazon, and eBay.
Determining whether to sell online and choosing a platform requires consideration of your company’s goals. Jared explains his approach and suggests what to look for when making these decisions. Providing a word of caution to those looking into e-commerce, Jared shares his experience with copycat companies from overseas using their designs and stealing intellectual property online.
