NFIB Road Team Prepares Small Businesses for the Elections

Date: October 17, 2023

NFIB Road Team travels to Virginia and New Jersey

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7, and small business is on the ballot. During the 2023 election cycle, NFIB’s Political Action Committees (PACs) have engaged in gubernatorial and state legislative elections, as well as state supreme court races, ballot initiatives, and congressional special elections. NFIB PACs endorsed candidates, and NFIB created election resources for members and continues to send staff to key districts as part of the Road Team program.

In October, the NFIB Virginia Road Team deployed to nine targeted legislative districts to inform members about the importance of early voting. Staff visited over 200 businesses, including multiple visits alongside endorsed candidates. Another NFIB Road Team will go to New Jersey on Oct. 19.

During these Road Team events, NFIB staff go door-to-door to meet with members, remind them about the upcoming election, and provide early voting and polling site information. This gives small business owners a chance to hear the important issues at stake and learn the potential impact the results will have on their business.

NFIB’s political team encourages small business owners to identify pro-small business candidates and policies on the ballot, engage with these campaigns, and vote on or before Election Day. Small business owners need strong advocates in state capitals and in Washington, D.C. because good small business policy starts with electing pro-small business candidates.
