Supporters of higher fuel taxes, toll roads expected to take another run at them
NFIB is preparing to fight again the expected return of three bills aimed at raising the cost of transportation and will dedicated itself to:
- Stopping Fuel Tax Increase
- Defeating Vehicle Miles Tax
- Preventing the Tolling of I-80
Out-of-state cause groups have increasingly been involving themselves in other states’ lawmaking with such initiatives as:
- Boosting the minimum-wage rate to $20 an hour, which California has done for fast-food workers.
- Extending unemployment benefits to striking and undocumented workers
- Empowering anyone to sue an employer on behalf of an employees and the state through Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) laws
- Prohibiting employers from requiring employees to attend an employer-sponsored meeting
- Giving employees the right to disconnect from any communication with their employers after hours
NFIB will be on the alert for proposals harming our members’ right to own, operate, and grow their businesses.
