The Arkansas office of
National Federation of Independent Business, the state’s leading small-business
association, has presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business Award to
state Sen. Bart Hester and state Rep. Charlie Collins. The ceremony was held at
Hunt Ventures in Rogers.
The Guardian of Small Business award is the most
prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their
efforts to support small business issues. The NFIB/Arkansas Leadership Council,
an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to the
legislators for supporting small-business issues in the Legislature.
Sylvester Smith, state director of NFIB/Arkansas, said
Senator Hester and Representative Collins earned this year’s awards by being
tireless advocates for small business in the Legislature.
“Bart Hester has made it his mission to eliminate
senseless lawsuits against small business owners, and to promote the right of
entrepreneurs to run their businesses free of government intrusion,” Smith
said.
“Charlie Collins has been a key architect of some of our
state’s most significant tax reforms,” Smith said.
“Arkansans are fortunate to have these leaders
representing them in the state Legislature, ” Smith said. “On behalf of all
small businesses in Arkansas, NFIB wants to thank Bart Hester and Charlie
Collins for their hard work and dedication to our state’s entrepreneurs.”
NFIB has about 4,000 dues-paying members in Arkansas,
representing a cross section of the state’s economy. Learn more at www.NFIB.com/AR or follow NFIB on Twitter at
