NFIB/CA Announces Organizational and Staff Changes
Changes will build upon successes to best serve membership across California
SACRAMENTO, Calif., January 16, 2018 – Today NFIB/CA announced a number of changes to the California operation that are part of an ongoing restructuring process to maximize resources to best serve their 22,000 small business members across the state.
“Today is an exciting day and step forward for NFIB California with staff and structural changes that are a first step toward maximizing resources to best serve our many diverse members in the state,” commented Tim Goodrich, NFIB Executive Director, State Public Policy. “California is home to some of the greatest challenges and burdens for small businesses, which calls for a unique, strategic structure in a such a large, complex state.
“With these unique challenges in mind and building upon the success of NFIB/CA over the last several years, I am happy to announce we have decided to contract with John Kabateck, President of Kabateck Strategies, to represent NFIB/CA in 2018 as State Director. John brings with him over 25 years of experience in politics and policymaking, including time previously serving as Executive Director of NFIB/CA,” added Goodrich.
“It is an absolute joy to have the opportunity to serve an organization and membership near and dear to my heart as State Director. I am excited to help NFIB/CA and their many small business members build upon the great successes of this organization with this new structure,” commented John Kabateck.
Tim Goodrich continued, “I am also pleased to announce an expanded role for Shawn Lewis, who has served as NFIB/CA Communications Director since February 1, 2016. Shawn will continue his strategic communications roles and responsibilities, but will also serve as a registered lobbyist for NFIB/CA, working to identify and advocate directly on policy issues critical to our small business members.”
Additional structure changes will be developed throughout the year to expand NFIB/CA’s grassroots and membership engagement throughout Southern California.
