NFIB's FedPAC announced endorsement of Merrin for Congress
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed Derek Merrin for election to the U.S. House of Representatives to represent Ohio’s 9th Congressional District.
“Derek Merrin is a small business advocate in Ohio’s General Assembly, and we’re pleased to endorse him today for U.S. Congress,” said Chris Ferruso, NFIB Ohio State Director. “He is a leader on tax reform and has supported policies that lower taxes and simplify the tax code, something that benefits our members directly. During his time as a state representative, he earned a 100% NFIB lifetime voting record for his commitment to protecting small businesses from over-regulation, tax burdens, and increasing healthcare costs. We are confident that Derek Merrin will continue to be a small business champion in Washington, D.C.”
“I’m honored to have the support of the NFIB in my race for Congress. Small business is the engine that makes Ohio’s economy run,” said Derek Merrin. “As a state legislator, I have fought to support small business owners by lowering their tax burden and removing costly regulations. NW Ohio businesses are burdened by the federal government’s high taxes, costly mandates, and constant interference in business operations. I look forward to working with job creators, entrepreneurs, and NFIB to unleash the power of small business by removing the heavy hand of Washington D.C. off their backs. Together, we will make America once again the best nation in the world to conduct business!”
“Derek Merrin will be a reliable pro-small business voice in Congress,” said Sharon Sussin, NFIB Senior National Political Director. “He understands the issues important to our members and has pledged to make them a priority. We are proud to endorse him and look forward to working with him.”
The endorsement is issued from NFIB FedPAC, NFIB’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by voluntary contributions by NFIB members over and above their membership dues. Decisions made by the NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member-driven grassroots evaluation.
