The NFIB Texas Political Action Committee has endorsed Greg Abbott for a second term as governor. NFIB is the nation’s leading small-business association.
“Governor Abbott has done an outstanding job, showing our members time and again that he understands the challenges facing Texas’ small businesses,” NFIB State Executive Director Will Newton said.
Newton announces the NFIB Texas PAC endorsement in a video produced by Texans for Greg Abbott.
“Governor Abbott has demonstrated an unwavering support for small businesses and free-market values,” Newton said. “He understands that small business is the beating heart of the Texas economy, and under his leadership, our state’s economy is stronger than it’s ever been.
“During his time in office, Governor Abbott has cut costly red tape and has fought for lower taxes, including a reduction in the state franchise tax,” Newton said. “These policies allow small business to grow and create more jobs for hardworking Texans.
“Governor Abbott has also put forth a plan to rein in skyrocketing property taxes that are harming small-business owners and taxpayers,” Newton said.
“We support four more years of Governor Abbott because our members believe he will never stop fighting for Texas’ small businesses,” Newton said.
The NFIB Texas PAC’s endorsement is based on the candidate’s position and record on small-business issues.
Today’s endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state’s small businesses behind the governor’s campaign. Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to vote. NFIB will encourage its Texas members to help turn out the powerful small-business voting bloc on Election Day.
