The Georgia office of NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, today presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business award to State Rep. Mike Cheokas (151st District).

The award recognizes lawmakers for their work in supporting Georgia’s small businesses. NFIB State Director Hunter Loggins presented the award to Rep. Cheokas following a small business town hall at Uncorked by Georgia Bob’s, an NFIB member business in Byron.

“Representative Cheokas has been a strong supporter of Georgia’s job creators since he was elected 20 years ago,” said NFIB State Director Hunter Loggins. “He has achieved a 100% NFIB voting record in the Georgia House, siding with small business owners on issues ranging from insurance reform to eliminating burdensome regulations.

“In this year’s session of the General Assembly, Representative Cheokas sponsored House Bill 808, legislation that would reduce the tangible personal property tax burden on Georgia’s small businesses. The bill was signed by Governor Kemp in May, and the matter will go before voters for final approval in November.

“On behalf of our members, I’m proud to present this award to Representative Cheokas.”
