The Tennessee office of NFIB, the state’s leading small business advocacy organization, today presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business award to state Rep. Ryan Williams (District 42). NFIB made the presentation this morning virtually with NFIB members in his district.
The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business. The NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to the legislator for his outstanding leadership on small-business issues.
“Ryan Williams has been a stalwart supporter for small business on key tax, labor, tort and regulatory reforms that have leveled the playing field for small business,” NFIB State Director Jim Brown said. “Representative Williams has an outstanding lifetime voting record with NFIB, and he has worked exceptionally hard in his committees to protect and promote the interests of small businesses in his district and across Tennessee.”
“It’s a great honor to receive the Guardian of Small Business award from NFIB,” Williams said. “Small businesses are the backbone of my district, and they drive our economy statewide. I will continue to support policies that enable them they to operate on a level playing field and have the resources they need to succeed. Fighting for free enterprise has been a cause I’ve enjoyed very much and will continue to do in the Tennessee General Assembly.”
Williams chairs the House Life & Health Insurance Subcommittee and is a member of the Insurance, Finance, Ways & Means, Health, and Joint Fiscal Review committees. Additionally, he serves on the Finance, Ways & Means Appropriations Committee and Public Health Subcommittee.
