(April 2, 2014) – The National
Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), which represents nearly 15,000
small business owners in Indiana, congratulated one of its own members today
for its announcement of a $60 million expansion to its Indiana headquarters
that will create 100 new jobs for Hoosiers.
“Beck’s Hybrids is now the sixth largest seed
company in the world and NFIB is proud to have represented them for more than a
quarter century,” said NFIB Indiana
State Director Barbara Quandt. “Beck’s
and all of the small businesses like it represent the true strength of our
economy. I can speak for all NFIB
members when I say that we’re happy for their success and excited about their
future.”
Quandt joined the company’s CEO Sonny Beck today at an event
with Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann to
announce plans for a $60 million expansion of its headquarters, research,
production and distribution facility in Atlanta, Indiana. The company says that its project will bring
create up to 100 new jobs by 2017.
“The American economy grows one small business at a time,”
said Quandt. “Beck’s is a great example
of that and it says something important about Indiana’s direction that the
company chose to expand and create jobs here.”
