Field Sales Representative John Ogden was honored for 25 years of being in the trenches in Field Sales spreading the message of NFIB small business advocacy in Michigan.
“October 26th, 1993 will be a day I will always remember,” said Ogden. “I remember the cool crisp air that nipped my nose, but I was nice and warm in my brand new pin-striped suit that I just purchased a couple days before. The beautiful fall colors of the back-country roads we traveled on early that day. My heart was pounding every stop we made, every person we talked to and it was soon going to be my turn.”
“I had no clue what I got myself into, no experience, no special skills, just a few pages that I memorized verbatim. Scared to death, my heart pounded harder and harder, even as I pulled on that very first door. My palms were sweating and I was light headed – this was the first day that I was an NFIB Field Sales Rep.”
The rest is history as they say, and Ogden went on to win the President’s Club award eight times and has been inducted into the NFIB Hall of Fame for his sales performance.
“I am still excited every day I head out the door to meet and talk with small business owners knowing that NFIB is giving them a voice in state and federal government,” said Ogden.
