The award honors Ohio legislators for their strong, steady support of Main Street
NFIB has presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business Award to state Sen. Bill Reineke (Tiffin) and Rep. Bill Roemer (Richfield) for their outstanding leadership on small business issues in the Ohio Legislature.
The Guardian of Small Business Award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small businesses. NFIB State Director Chris Ferruso presented the awards to the legislators today at NFIB’s annual Small Business Day at the Capitol in Columbus.
“Senator Reineke is a 14-year member of NFIB who has achieved a 100% NFIB voting record in the state Senate,” Ferruso said. “Our members are especially grateful to Senator Reineke for taking the lead on SB 302, the unemployment compensation bill, and supporting efforts to overhaul the state Department of Education to ensure young people have the skills needed to enter the workforce.
“Representative Roemer has a 100% NFIB voting record and took the lead on the accelerated bonus depreciation and municipal income tax bills, legislation that has a big impact on Ohio’s small businesses.
“Senator Reineke and Representative Roemer understand that small business is the engine that powers economic engines, and they have worked tirelessly to ensure small businesses can fully recover from the economic setbacks that began with the COVID-19 pandemic and once again grow and create jobs,” Ferruso said. “That’s why I’m proud to present Senator Reineke and Representative Roemer with these NFIB Guardian of Small Business Awards.”
