The PA Senate recently passed SCRRR 1, which rejects the governor’s proposal for Pennsylvania to join the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).
NFIB submitted comments in support of this resolution repeating its charge that “policymakers must consider RGGI’s significant costs and weigh them against its unclear benefits, especially during what has been an unprecedented time for our economy and small businesses.

The Senate also passed SB 275 (Yaw) which prohibits municipalities in Pennsylvania from enacting policies that would restrict or ban the connection or reconnection of a utility service based upon the type of energy source. NFIB supports this legislation and has expressed to lawmakers that allowing a municipality to make up its own rules would disrupt the free market and business owners must be allowed the ability to choose the energy source best suited for them regardless of location.
