If results hold, NFIB will have won 79% of the contests it made endorsements in
As of this post, “Ballots continue to be counted after Election Day during the canvass period,” says the secretary of state. “County elections officials must report final official results for presidential electors to the Secretary of State by December 3, 2024, and all other state contests by December 6, 2024. The Secretary of State will certify the results on December 13, 2024.”
If current results hold, NFIB California, its political action committee, and leadership council, will have had a good Election Day. Four ballot initiatives are going NFIB’s way, as of November 8:
- Proposition 5, which sought to lower the voter threshold to pass bonds and which NFIB recommended a ‘No’ vote on, is losing, 44% to 56%.
- Proposition 32, which would raise the state’s minimum wage rate and which NFIB recommended a ‘No’ vote on, is losing 48% to 52%.
- Proposition 33, which would have given local governments greater rent-control powers and which NFIB urged a ‘No’ vote on, is losing, 39% to 61%.
- Proposition 36, which toughens retail theft laws and which NFIB urged a ‘Yes’ vote on is handily winning, 70% to 30%.

- Senate District 1—Megan Dahle
- Senate District 19—Rosilicie Ochoa-Bogh
- Senate District 23—Suzette Valladares
- Senate District 37—Steven Choi
