Candidate's record on small business issues, fiscal responsibility, and leadership earn the endorsement
The NFIB OH PAC, the political action committee of the National Federation of Independent Business in Ohio, the state’s leading small business association, has announced its endorsement of Mike DeWine’s bid to be Ohio’s next governor. Based on his interview with NFIB’s Leadership Council in Ohio and the responses of NFIB members across the state on the organization’s candidate survey, DeWine was the clear choice among Ohio entrepreneurs.
During DeWine’s tenure in the U.S. Congress, he earned an 86 percent favorable NFIB voting record and is a past recipient of the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award. Growing up in a family that owned a small business, he understands what it takes on a daily basis to operate an enterprise and the frustrations that government can cause. DeWine regularly attends NFIB’s Ohio Small Business Day at the Capitol and has spoken before numerous local NFIB gatherings around the state. He also holds regular meetings with the business community in his current role as Attorney General.
“The top priority Jon Husted and I have is to make Ohio the best place in the nation to find a career, do business, and raise a family, and we are so proud to have Ohio’s job creators standing with our campaign,” said Attorney General Mike DeWine.
Roger Geiger, vice president & executive director for NFIB in Ohio speaks at the press conference on why Mike DeWine is the best choice for small business owners in the race for Ohio Governor.
“Small businesses in Ohio are looking to continue Ohio’s economic growth. NFIB members from across Ohio have made it clear that Mike DeWine is the best candidate for Ohio Governor to help them own, operate, and grow their business,” said Roger Geiger, vice president/executive director of NFIB in Ohio. “His efforts to reach out to job creators, long history of supporting small business issues, and his reputation for fiscal responsibility are all reasons Ohio entrepreneurs have confidence in his candidacy. The small-business community recognizes the importance of this election in determining whether Ohio continues on its upward trajectory. They are more than ready to lend their support to the candidate they believe will make this state an example to others in the areas of taxation, regulations, and workforce development, and that candidate is Mike DeWine.”
Additionally, DeWine’s running mate, Secretary of State Jon Husted, is a past recipient of the NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business Award during his time in the Ohio Legislature while earning a 100 percent lifetime NFIB voting record.
