Annapolis
(October 22, 2014) – Gubernatorial
candidate Larry Hogan today shared
his economic agenda with small business owners as part of a statewide teleforum
sponsored by the National Federation of
Independent Business (NFIB).
“Our
members have been hit hard by the outgoing administration’s policies and
they’re eager for a new direction,” said NFIB
Regional Policy Director Tim Goodrich. “They overwhelmingly endorsed Larry Hogan for
Governor and they very much appreciate him taking the time to address their
concerns today.”
Hundreds
of NFIB members called in to ask questions and to listen to Hogan outline his
plans for boosting Maryland’s economy.
“He’s
a businessman and he has some very clear ideas on Maryland’s problems and how
to address them,” said Goodrich. “It was
a very productive conversation and the distinction between Larry Hogan and his
opponent couldn’t be clearer to small business owners.”
Hogan
is running against Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, who as part of the O’Malley
administration bungled the health care website rollout and supported billions
in higher taxes on small businesses and middle-class taxpayers.
“Lt.
Governor Brown is a talented politician but he doesn’t understand the economy,”
said Goodrich. “We’ve had eight years of
that kind of leadership and our members think it’s time for a change.”
