Washington, D.C. (April 4, 2019) – NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy association, is endorsing Fred Keller for election to the United States House of Representatives. The special election to replace U.S. Rep. Tom Marino in Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District will be held on May 21. NFIB announced the endorsement today at member business Norcen Industries in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania.
“Fred Keller consistently has been one of the strongest supporters of small business legislation in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives,” said NFIB’s Pennsylvania State Director Gordon Denlinger. “Keller worked for 25 years in a family-owned business and has a deep understanding of the challenges small business owners face, such as taxes and regulations. We are confident he will continue to stand up for small business owners in the U.S. House. As the voice of Pennsylvania small businesses, we are proud to endorse Fred Keller.”
Keller started his own small business managing properties and serving as a general contractor shortly after graduating from high school. Later, he moved to Conestoga Wood Specialties, where he rose to serve as Plant Operations Manager for several years. Keller is currently a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and has represented the 85th district since 2011. Keller was awarded the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award for his 100 percent voting record during his four terms in office.
“I’m grateful for the support of NFIB and its members in Pennsylvania’s 12th District,” Keller said. “Small businesses and the workers they employ fuel Pennsylvania’s economy. I’m committed to supporting policies like making middle-class tax cuts permanent, reducing unnecessary regulations, and investing in workforce development so that local companies can grow and create family-sustaining jobs for the people of central and northeast Pennsylvania.”
“Fred Keller’s strong background speaks for itself,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “With his experience working in a family-owned business and his legislative record on small business issues, we know that Keller will be a staunch supporter of small business in the U.S. House.”
NFIB is the nation’s leading small business advocacy association. Keller’s endorsement today comes from the NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. Small business owners vote in high percentages and they are influential in their communities. NFIB members in Pennsylvania will work hard to elect Keller in May.
