Washington, D.C. (June 15, 2016) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading representative of small business owners, is endorsing Rep. Brad Ashford (NE-02) for re-election. Ashford has a strong record of supporting legislation that would help small businesses and should be returned to the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Congressman Ashford’s support for small business priorities has earned him the right to be re-elected,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “Small business owners need champions like Ashford to stand up for sensible economic policies. We thank him for supporting legislation that can help small businesses grow and create jobs.”
Ashford qualified for an endorsement from the NFIB by achieving a high rating on votes scored in the current Congress. The list of the votes is available here.
“Congressman Ashford has been a refreshing change from the normal business-as-usual gridlock in Washington, D.C.,” said NFIB/Nebraska State Director Bob Hallstrom. “His joining the problem-solver caucuses was more than just a pose. His votes for bills providing regulatory and tax relief for small businesses are proof he’s sincere about wanting to get things done for Nebraska’s small businesses. Small business has an effective friend in Congressman Ashford.”
Ashford’s endorsement today comes from the NFIB SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action committee. Small business owners vote in high percentages and they are influential in their communities.
