WASHINGTON, D.C., March 28, 2017 – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) today launched a radio advertising campaign in North Dakota urging U.S. Sens. Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven to confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch for the U.S. Supreme Court.
“Every small business has a stake in the next Supreme Court justice,” said NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan. “Judge Neil Gorsuch has a distinguished record marked by a willingness to challenge the regulatory bureaucracy. Regulatory overreach is a serious threat and the basis on which NFIB is actively fighting multiple agencies in court.”
The NFIB radio campaign highlights the importance of confirming a justice who respects the separation of powers, as well as limits on the unwarranted expansion of regulatory authority.
“Senators Heitkamp and Hoeven have always supported small businesses, and the confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch is a key small-business issue,” said Duggan. “Unnecessary federal regulation is one of the top three concerns for small businesses, and the Supreme Court is their last line of defense. We are counting on Senators Heitkamp and Hoeven to support Judge Gorsuch.”
